All of the plants are big and healthy and accurately labeled. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, I've been buying plants there for years. I drive past five other big box stores to buy my plants at Baker's.

They specialize in coleus and begonias...Truly an amazing selection. If you want a good laugh and catalogs worth keeping, get on their mailing list. They don't do mail order plants, but they list everything offered up for sale in the current season. They also host fun events like the "Not Quite All Night Extravaganza", which we've attended three years now; it's live music, a great spread with fresh fruit, veggies, cookies and snacks, and 10% off your purchases. It's rained every year I've gone, but there's always a good turnout, testimony to what a great garden center this is. Their plants are always healthy and do great!

They do have one of the best selections of the usual suspects, but rare plants are their thing and you will find items at this nursery that you have never seen anywhere else. Believe me, I do dozens of nurseries every spring so I know what is out there and this place is on a different level - a plant nerd's paradise. I particularly love their main greenhouse where you can find many rare houseplants. Begonias are my thing and this is the only place I know of were you can find dozens of cultivars of Angel Wing and Rhizome begonias that just don't show up in a regular nursery. And, something as mundane as a snake plant - they have over a dozen varieties. They do not mail order but they do have a website where they list some of their plants, to give you an idea of what you will find. Sorry, I don't have the link but you can find it online if you search on the address. They also make up absolutely gorgeous hanging baskets and gift planters. Grab a cart on your way in because you will be filling it before you leave. And, plan to spend a couple of hours there if you are a fan of the unusal.

Incredible selections of just about anything you could possibly want, helpful staff, and very well organized. We spent so much time looking at their Rex Begonia selections we didn't have time to check out their Trees & Shrubs - next visit :) Definitely worth a trip for anyone within a 2 hr drive - you won't regret it. We were so impressed with Baker's we're thinking about making the 5 hr trip in the spring! Debbie
