This Public Park and Botanical Center is a "must see", if you are visiting Davenport.
You will enjoy it all, from the kidney shaped Lagoon, with spacious walk around it(don't forget to feed the ducks!), to the central promonade, capped off with a beautiful fountain, surrounded by lush tropical plantings, to the huge, well-kept rose gardens, and the shady hosta garden(with hundreds of named varieties).
Don't miss touring the Botanical Center, and "working" greenhouses, where the staff grow most of the seasonal flowers, and overwinter their tropicals. Indoors, a delightful little gift shop is staffed by volunteers.
They have three big shows a year, featuring hundreds of mums in the Fall, Poinsettias at Christmas, and Easter Lilies at Easter.
The park is immaculately, and masterfully designed by Staff and Master Gardeners from our Area.
You could easily wile away 2-3 hours, here.
Thousands of Annuals, perennials, grasses, Tropicals, shrubs and trees-all beautifully displayed-make this a wonderful visit.
