Boyce Thompson has both a "circular" path that takes you through various plant collections, and an alternative "High Trail" path that gains elevation and, although something of a climb, is worth it to see the changes in plant types as the elevation increases (and this is accentuated by the cool, north-facing slope). The collections along the Main Path are impressive too, since the collections were started in the 1920s and all have been added to during the years since. Beautiful collections, all; in keeping with Thompson's stated goal to create "...the most useful and beautiful garden of its kind in the world".

I love this place! They have a plant sale in the Spring and the setting is simply beautiful. I look forward to visiting it every time I am in the area. Wear good walking shoes and be ready to spend hours exploring.

Boyce Thompson is a great place to visit. I like to take visiting relatives there. They not only have interesting plants and plant zones but are surrounded and integrated into a beautiful natural rustic landscape.
