We love the Stowe! The gardens have improved vastly in the three years we have lived here, but there are still sections that need work. The classes are very informative and they have a good selection of topics. The curator is quick and responsive by email. There are many programs for children. We love to take our granddaughter and she enjoys going. It is a fabulous resource for scouting out plants you might want to use in your garden, architectural ideas, and even a beautiful backdrop for a family photo. We did have a professional photographer take a picture of our family here, turned out lovely. We find it very enjoyable and love to stroll about at least once in every season. Do take their classes. There is a small garden shop, I always seem to find something. Check the calendar on the web, they always have a seasonal event going on!!! We take all our visitors here, and they LOVE it.

My family and I found that this garden is in a very remote location and easy to drive by (or at least think we had gone too far, or not far enough on the road).
I was REALLY suprised that it costs $10 a person to get in and there are really no amenities. No restrooms or water fountains out in the gardens that go on and on into the wild blue yonder in the blazing sun.
My husband was commenting on all the weeds he saw and I though a lot of the plants looked really sad or sick or both. The kids were restless and ran ahead a lot on the paths, and they seemed to enjoy all the fountains but I did not want them in that filty water.
I didn't think the gardens looked anything like what the brochures or even their TV ads show.
