I write this review based on 8 years of my own experience with Country Caretaker and my husband's 20 years' worth. Pluses: (1) consistently excellent quality annuals, perennials, trees and shrubs; (2) wide selection of annuals, including less-usual species and varieties; (3) most annuals grown on site, so they're hardy for the Canaan climate; (4) knowledgeable, helpful staff; (5) small but choice selection of soil amendments; (6) discount to members of the Berkshire Botanical Garden; (7) excellent service for planting large shrubs/trees, brush clearing etc. Minus: (1) Limited selection of perennials on-site, although Dave (Weller, the owner) will try to find what you want. I consider myself very lucky indeed to have Country Caretaker just down the road.
