Their style is more "upscale", chic, and artistic than most other local places. They cater to people who want the best, the unusual, or the exceptionally beautiful... and are willing to pay for it. They are quite expensive, but for their plants, I find it's worth the extra price. The plants are well groomed and cared for, not allowed to get water-stressed in summer, often bigger and healthier, and typically much more likely to be pest-free than those of other local suppliers. Recently they seem to have cut back on their overall plant selection but increased the selection of pottery and containers, succulents, and roses.

Crowds of people go there just to stroll around and sight-see... so it's best to avoid the place on weekends and holidays. The grounds are gorgeous. Their restrooms are reasonably clean... but in need of an upgrade.

They also have a landscape maintenance service and landscape design and installation division, Colorscape. We had Colorscape do some renovation work on our backyard last year. We found an excellent masonry contractor as a result, but Colorscapes's own administrative and design personnel seemed uninspired, overworked, and lacking coordination and adequate project oversight.

One of my favorite spots to visit when I'm in SoCal. Lots of plants! They're a bit pricey, but for something I haven't seen anywhere else, not unreasonable. Quality of their stock is exceptional. They also have a beautiful gift shop, orchids, houseplants, and garden ornaments. They have a nice selection of roses, a big shade-garden area, and some succulents. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly---but also very busy on the weekends when this place is TOTALLY packed.
