On a day in late February when I was going off to demonstrate weaving for the yarn store in downtown Campbell, it was rainy and all, and there was the Farmer's Market, in full swing, with tented booths and families all in their rain gear, getting their groceries.
The herb and seed-starts folks who go to the Cabrillo Farmer's Market in Aptos on Saturdays are here in Campbell on Sundays, how magnificent a find, since it's been several years since I'd lived in Aptos (we're in Redwood City now, and the Cabrillo market is a rare treat).
I bought tomato starts that are just about ready to go in, rather the weather's just about ready to welcome them, and a few lettuces and greens that immediately went into the garden and are doing quite well.
I'll go back again, even though there are plenty of good markets closer to home, especially since we have dear friends very nearby.
