I had a very bad experience at this store today. About a month ago I was torn between two plants and the one I did choose turned out to be not exactly right. Today,I dug up the plant (which is healthy), placed the original tag on it, potted it and tried to exchange it for the other one. The manager refused (because its been in the ground) but admitted that I can get what I want if the plant is dead! When I pressed further he said "I don't want to listen to this" and told me to leave. After 25 years of purchasing from this nursery, I guess I'm done. The founders of this store must be turning in their graves to know that a cocky 4th generation kid straight out of business school thinks he knows how to maximize profit. And the customer be damned.

Corliss has incredibly knowledgeable staff overall, but it really shines with regard to the outdoor yard help in the spring. No other plant seller of any kind has the kind of customer service Corliss has. This is unusual, especially for a larger operation. I visit them as often as I can; it's worth the trip from nearly anywhere!
