I love Ellsworth! The price you state for berries is $7.00 per quart not pint, you indeed can get a quart in the store for $5.00. I would rather pay $2 extra for fresh berries that have not been gassed,or "tampered" in some way to keep from spoiling on their trek from CA. If you frequent Ellsworth you'll note that their strawberries are cheaper than the grocery store, as well as their raspberries, plums and apples. Peaches run $1.99#. How many times have you picked up peaches and have seen the donut or saturn peaches listed for .99 cents each? At Ellsworth you can get them for $2.99#. That is a tremendous savings.

Picking can be fun for the family and if you feel you're being harassed, you need to report it to an owner or manager. Always know the prices ahead of time. Understand the amounts for the price. Comparison shop. You know the blueberries are more expensive, so pick apples instead. I learned that lesson when I dropped $96 my first trip. Now I know what to expect. I don't mind paying the extra. We need local farmers. Give Ellsworth another shot. Hopefully your experience will be better.

My family and I planned a family day to go picking blueberries here. A creepy man kept a close watch on us, to the point where we were about to report him for being a stalker.......did he work there? was he a customer?
He saw my child eat berries and harrassed her continuously, to the point of making my family have to leave because of his mouth. He just kept yelling at her for eating berries.
From the time we walked off the hill, to the time we got in our vehicles, he continued to run his mouth.
We picked quite a few berries, so paid for them......$7/pint...to the tune of about $100!!!!!!!!!
We wanted to just throw them on the ground and leave because of how we were treated, but we paid for them and left.
The cashier was appologetic for his behavior, but that did not compensate for our much planned family day together being ruined by this man's behavior. He only needed to make a simple statement not to eat the berries...but he went ballistic.
Buyer's beware, and an extremely expensive PICK-YOUR-OWN experience!!!! $7/pint when they are in the stores now for 2 pints/$4.
Good grief! We drove way out of our way, it cost us over $100 between berries and gas, and it was ruined by a vile creature!!!
