one time, i went to a local nursery, it had a big passion fruit plant growing literally from a tiny cement crack right by the house. i doubt that they actually water or fertilize this plant at all.

is passion fruit really that easy to grow? also can i germinate one from the seeds directly?

Take a ripe fruit and scrape out the seed gooey stuff and all ...over the top of some well draining soil in a pot or container ...cover with about half an inch of that soil, water well and just place it in a warm place. Best done in the warmer season of course and you place it under a tree or somewhere where it will get warmth but dappled shade. Some passionfruit are weeds and will grow anywhere ,but if you like eating them ...thats how I have always grown them. Plant out somewhere where they can climb up into the sun but still have their roots in shade ...or mulch heavily. Best grown in the earth rather than a pot.

really? ;) some grow like weeds?

In some supermarkets, they are sold individually, a single passion fruit can cost more than 1 dollar, and they are not that common, either.

i will try to germinate some next time when i buy one.
