NatureLover1950 Vicksburg, MS (Zone 8a) July 4, 2008 8:08 PM	Your tree looks like my Sweet Bay magnolia (Laurus nobilis) which would be evergreen in your part of the country. Your flower looks just like my rudbeckia Indian Summer.
ecrane3 Dublin, CA (Zone 9a) July 4, 2008 9:18 PM	I think you've got the Latin name mixed up...Laurus nobilis is just plain sweet bay and doesn't have flowers like that. Sweet bay magnolia is Magnolia virginiana and it does have flowers like this one [HYPERLINK@davesgarden.com]
