has anyone tried the zoysia grass that magazine ads present as a miracle grass? it sounds too good to be true but someone in our neighborhood just put it in as sod and it looks good so far--the plugs that the magazine ad company sells are a good price and my grass has it's problems.

Linda,

No matter where you live the best way to find out about lawns is to get the phone book out and call a sod company. They are very helpful, usually. If they aren't helpful or you feel they are less the honest call a different one. They know all the plus and minus factors for any grass that grows in your area.

If you have time you can talk to the folks at the golf course. They know even more than a sod sales worker.

An agricultural extension agent can also give you an unbiased opinon as to what grows well in your area. They are also listed in the phone book.
