Hi, everybody. Here's another beautiful flower I have no idea what is its name. I found it in the same farming area in Zwartkopjes, south of Johannesburg. It has thick and hard leaves, which upon breaking give out a white and gluey milk. I don't know if it is toxic. Could you kindly identify it for us, please?

It appears to be in the genus Asclepias or a closely-related one.

I have been told that when plants that have that milky substance there is a good chance they are toxic.

Jjulio, you may find this site very useful. I find it very informative.

I think your plant is a Gomphocarpus physocarpus

Know what you are talking about. All this rain has run me up the wall. Guess what?, no body even got sick so I could go the hospital. The sun came out and I've been there ever since. Guess it was to bad to get sick, or they are just getting sick to aggravate me because I want to be out in the yard.

Been trying my soul, patience and attitude. If I wasn't such a heck of a sweet guy, I'd be really upset.

I am a hen pecked man and proud of it. Any man that says he's not is either lying or paying alimony.

Thanks, doll. I missed you, too. By the way, the day lilys are looking great. Can't believe how much they have grown. The vine was running really good but has stopped for now. Guess it is going dorment.
