Landscaping: Transplanting Rose of Sharon

sherlyn Clifton Hill, MO September 07, 2009 10:35 AM	I am needing to know when I can transplant a Rose of Sharon. It is still blooming so wondered if I should wait til it stops. Thanks!
themoonhowl Prairieville, LA (Zone 9a) September 08, 2009 10:20 PM	Sherlyn, it is best to wait until it goes dormant for the winter. Much less stressful for the plant.

themoonhowl Prairieville, LA (Zone 9a) September 11, 2009 03:47 PM	Yes, I do agree, Rose of Sharon is a tough plant, but in order to transplant with the least amount of stress to the shrub, it is better to allow it to go dormant. Better root system developement and better plant performance in the long run.
