The front yard of our home is sloping downward to the side of the house. I would like to put a swing at the front of the house to make it a little more cozy. But, since it isn't level I don't know how to pull this off. How would I go about making that spot level for a swing? Would I relocate dirt to make it level? How would I keep that from washing away? Since my home is brick what would the appropriate hardscape be? If I make a retaining wall of some sort how do I do that? Step by step instructions and ideas would be nice. Thnx

You could also consider building a deck over the area, it would be level and you could put the swing there. Otherwise you'll have to put in a retaining wall and move the dirt around to level the area. Having never done either of those things myself I'm not sure which one would be more work. If you google building retaining walls there are lots of sites out there with step by step instructions. I agree on posting a picture though, seeing what you're up against in terms of slope and what the area looks like might give people a better idea of what would work well.
